The General tab allows you to manage the high level, default settings for a product
In this article, we will review how to edit product information and settings on an individual level. When adding a blank product from a supplier product catalog, this information will be pre-populated for you.
Many of the product options below can be performed in bulk to save you time, click here to learn more about bulk actions!
First you will see the most basic high level settings for a product: Product Status, Store Assignment, and Product Category
Marking the status as Inactive will prevent the product from appearing within any assigned stores or Designers.
Product Details
Here you can edit basic, high level details about the product. Starting with the first few options:
The Product Name will display on the Storefront Product page (if it's predecorated, or if you sell it as a blank), as well as in any Designers the product may be assigned to. The Default Color will be the initial color option that shows in those same places, and must be selected from a list of the currently Active colors over on the Colors & Images tab (more on that here).
In the Product Details section, you can also select and edit the assigned Supplier, Manufacturer, Product SKU, and Manufacturer SKU. If you'd like to edit the available Supplier or Manufacturers, you can learn how to do that here!
The InkSoft Product ID is assigned when the product is initially added to your catalog and cannot be changed. This is a unique identifier that can be very useful to our customers who leverage the power of the InkSoft API, as certain functionalities are tied to this ID. Learn more about the InkSoft API and what you can accomplish with it here!
Finally, the last batch of Product Details options lets you customize what you would like to get across to your end users on a product by product basis, via the Availability Description and the Product Description. Adding relevant Store Search Tags is a good idea if you want specific products to be retrieved when specific terms are searched by the customer.
Product Sizes
Size Chart management can be performed directly on the product, allowing you to decide if you want no size chart, the default manufacturer size chart, or a unique, custom size chart assigned to this product. If you select Custom Size Chart, you will simply need to upload the image file as directed by the interface.
You can also set a custom Size Chart Label, which will change the name of the size chart tab on the storefront Product Details page.
Finally, you can manage the Available Sizes for the product from a birds eye view. Changing the Sort order that the sizes are displayed, marking specific sizes as Active or not, renaming the Size Label, selecting which Available Styles come in each size, setting product Weight, or just Deleting sizes can all be done directly in this interface.
