How to manage art categories for the Online Designer.

Clip Art Design Idea Categories help organize artwork into meaningful groups that make it easier to browse, discover, and use design assets within InkSoft. By assigning clip art to specific categories, you can improve artwork organization and help users quickly find relevant designs when creating products. This article explains how to create, manage, and maintain Clip Art Design Idea Categories within the Admin Portal.

Getting Started

• Hover over the Art tab.
• Hover either Clip Art or Design Ideas (Note: the process is the same for either option).
• Click Categories.
• Choose the desired store from the dropdown menu (Note: each storefront with a Designer turned on can have separate art categories).

Managing/Editing Categories 

Once a storefront is selected, the options below can be used to manage or edit categories:

• Select All: Will select all categories on the page.
• Expand Categories: This button will expand all the categories that have sub-categories on the page.
• Collapse Categories: This button will collapse any categories that have been expanded.
• Hide/Show: Once categories have been selected, clip art/design ideas can be hidden at the category level. This is an easy way to control the art in a store, as categories can be hidden/shown as needed!
• Delete: Click to delete any empty category.
• Create New: Allows the creation of a new category and category image.

Make sure to hit Save before navigating away!

Editing a Category

• To edit an individual category, click the pencil to the right of the category name.
• This will allows the category name or category image to be edited, or the category deleted (Note: To delete a category, the category needs to be empty).
