Learn how to create and manage gift certificate and donation products in InkSoft, making it easy to offer customers additional ways to support your business or organization. It covers how these products work, how to set them up, and how they can be used to generate revenue, encourage fundraising, or provide flexible purchasing options for customers.
While our Stores are built primarily for apparel, you can easily see just how malleable the software actually is. We have customers selling promotional products, signage, and even 'value-based' products! That would be products like a Gift Certificate or, a Donation.

NOTE: to avoid any issues with checkout, always make sure that your products have at least ONE print method assigned to it. This is found on the Edit Product page > General at the bottom.
Gift Certificates
These items are used to charge a customer upfront and then follow up with a Gift Certificate that they can use at a later date. Once you have received payment, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Admin Portal > Orders > Gift Certificates.
- Select the filter option 'Issue New Gift Certificate' and click Apply.
- Fill in the fields according to what your customer purchased (see example below).
- Click Save and a Gift Certificate number will be generated and emailed to your customer.
Donations
A donation is a product in InkSoft that people can purchase without expecting to receive anything in return. With that, you do not need to take any further action. The product itself will be created the same way as before, but be sure to clearly identify it as a Donation to avoid confusion.
