Site Security and SSL Settings
"SSL" is the acronym for Secure Sockets Layer and is the Internet standard security technology used to establish an encrypted (or safe) link between a web server (website) and your browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc…). This secured link ensures that the data/information that is passed from a web browser to the web server remains private and encrypted. SSL technology is essential for selling online as it allows consumers to make payment online safely.
InkSoft provides options two options for securing your InkSoft powered online stores:
1. Dedicated SSL (RECOMMENDED)- InkSoft offers a complimentary SSL product available from the leading provider Let's Encrypt, offered within the Inksoft system! Dedicated SSL certificates allow you to use and secure your custom domain name(s).
Benefits:
- Creates consumer confidence by indicating site security
- You can use your custom domain name versus stores.inksoft.com
- Every page is secured with an important search engine ranking factor
2. Free 'Shared' SSL- Enabling the free 'Shared' SSL will use https://stores.inksoft.com as a prefix in web pages that require security; such as account sign-in and checkout.

Taxation
Enjoy our Taxation video to get you some general knowledge on taxation and then review the guide if you have advanced questions.
Generally speaking, you do not have to use these tax controls. They are available for advanced configuration. InkSoft uses a third-party tax service which provides tax percentages for each State, City, and Zipcode. By default sales tax will be based on the zip code assigned per store.
